Senior-Focused Community Workshop (flyer attached)
When: Monday, June 29, 2026 | 10:30 AM–12:00 PM
Where: Benicia Senior Center | 187 E L St, Benicia, CA 94510
We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with members of the Benicia community. Because we are especially interested in hearing from older adults, we encourage outreach to community members ages 55+ if possible. To make outreach easier, we've attached an event flyer that you are welcome to distribute through any channels you use.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks in advance for helping us connect with the community; we greatly appreciate your support!
Kind regards,
Nicole Little, Engage FORA
About the Project:
Located at 187 East L Street (near the Library) and E 4th & E L Street (near the Community Center), the project focuses on housing for older adults (age 55+), with primarily one-bedroom homes and studios designed to support future residents with comfortable, independent living options. At the same time, the plan includes a redeveloped Senior Center that will continue to serve Benicia residents with modern community space and programming.
By co-locating housing near vibrant city amenities, recreation, and shopping, we can support the needs of older adults by making daily needs easily accessible and encouraging social connection, active lifestyles, and overall well-being.
This event is part of an ongoing community engagement series that began in September 2025 (more information on our community engagement process here). At the event, we will share an initial design concept for the project, including how community feedback has shaped the plans so far. We will have interactive stations where participants can provide input on the building design, landscaping, art, and amenities, exploring how the project can best fit Benicia and support future residents.
