A New Memoir Writing Class for Village Members and Volunteers on Zoom.
Have you considered writing your story? All of us villagers have been around the block a few times. We have had interesting experiences and learned a thing or two. If you’d like to write your story or even a small part of it, then join the new writing class being taught on Zoom by Debbie Weiss through Carquinez Village.
Debbie is an accomplished author, having written the award-winning book: Available As Is: A Midlife Widow’s Search for Love, as well as essays in the New York Times and Huffington Post. She previously taught a Zoom memoir writing class through the Lafayette Senior Center and recently completed teaching a very well-received in-person class through Benicia Literary Arts.
Debbie has very kindly volunteered to teach a class on memoir writing for our members. Her focus is on new writers who want to capture memories for their families. The Village Zoom memoir writing class will begin Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 1:30 to 3:30pm. It will last for six weeks and has an enrollment limited to ten so that everyone can have the opportunity to learn and share. The minimum enrollment is four. You can sign up through the Carquinez Village February events calendar and a Zoom link will be emailed to you.
If you have things you’d like to share with your family and friends but haven’t felt comfortable with writing then I’d highly recommend taking this class as an introduction to writing as a way of sharing your story with people whom you love.
