The Benicia Chamber Players present "Slavic Rhapsodies," emotionally charged works that exude drama and evoke a sense of Slavic nationalistic pride through uses of nostalgic folk melodies. Dvorak's piano trio Dumky and a piano trio by his fellow Czech composer and former student, Vitezslav Novak, will be performed. Additionally, the program includes the yearning yet optimistic second piano trio by Dora Pejacevic, one of the most prominent 20th-century Croatian composers.
Registration deadline is February 12.
The concert begins at 3:00 p.m. Meet Diane Choquette in the lobby of the museum to obtain your ticket. If you need a ride, please select that option when you register. If you are a CV volunteer, and can give rides, please indicate that and how many you can take in your car.
PLEASE NOTE: According to the museum, the elevator has had a major breakdown and is unlikely to be fixed by the 18th. Replacement parts are no longer available, and must be made. The auditorium is on the second floor of the museum, a long flight of stairs up from the lobby.
