The Carquinez Village is offering an additional educational speaker this month at the Benicia Public Library (co-sponsor). The featured speaker is Mr. Josh Dean, a Senior Systems Engineer for Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC) where he specializes in Cybersecurity Remediation. His evening presentation will be an interactive forum, focusing on how to avoid being scammed, stolen from, extorted and/or manipulated via an array of digital online methods (crime):
 
*Passwords - best practices!
*Email scams/spam/phishing - what to look for and how to avoid them
*Payment scams - text scams, credit cards, QR codes and money transfers
*Q&A: 45 minute session to ask Josh ANYTHING you want to know about cyber crimes!
 
Main Presentation: 6:00pm - 6:45pm
Q&A "Ask Josh Anything!": 6:45pm - 7:30pm - Josh will be available until 7:30p to answer questions. Attendees can leave anytime!
 
Josh Dean has over 20 years of IT experience and held previous roles such as Helpdesk Manager, Systems Administrator, Head of IT End User Services, Security Consultant, as well as Director of IT Operations. Josh has worked for many well-known companies in the Bay Area, such as Peets Coffee and Tea, OpenTV, Taos and Sephora to name a few.
