Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park is located in Richmond.
The park preserves and interprets the legacy of the US home front during World War II, including the Kaiser Shipyards, the Victory Ship SS Red Oak Victory, a tank factory and other facilities built to support America's entry into the war. In particular, the role of women and African-Americans in war industries is explored and honored.
We will be attending a special presentation entitled "Rosie Friday" in which women who worked as riveters will talk about their experiences. Afterwards, we'll have lunch together at a nearby restaurant.
Meet us at 9:00 am at the Ninth Street Parking lot to carpool and bring a mask!
